How a Bill Becomes a Law
The Kansas Legislature consists of Two Houses—The House of Representatives (125 members) and the Senate (40 members). A bill may be introduced in either house.

Legislative Committees
Kansas has an open legislative process. All committee action on bills and amendments is conducted in open session. Detailed information regarding legislative committees, including committee assignments, schedules, and minutes, is available on the Kansas Legislature website.
Campaign Finance
The Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission is the state agency charged with administering, interpreting and enforcing the Campaign Finance Act (CFA) for elected state offices as well as the following local offices: county, first class city, Wichita school board, and the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities.
